It's one of the largest land animals in the world. It's got small eyes and a big horn on its nose. It's calles the black rhino but in fact, it isn't - it's grey.
In 1970, there were more than 30,000 black rhinos in the world. Today there are only 3,000. Why are they disappearing? The biggest reason is traditional Chinese medicine. People kill the rhinos and use their horns as an ingredient. They began to be exterminated for attacks on livestock and for good and warm fur.

Lions in West Africa have fewer than 500 individuals and are threatened with extinction, a new study shows.

 The Panthera nonprofit survey was conducted in 17 countries - from Senegal to Nigeria - and lasted for more than six years.

 Panthera has declared a "catastrophic decline" in lion populations in West Africa, where these animals now live in less than one percent of their former habitat.

 Most of the territories where the lions used to live are now agricultural.
