While AI will increasingly handle most routine tasks in our world, our circumstances will demand creative problem solvers, imaginative leaders, and expansive thinkers.

For some time, schools have been creating their own textbooks via online platforms. Technology has expanded this practice to include a wide range of materials, referred to as Open Educational Resources (OER). The Hewlitt Foundation explains: "Open educational resources (OER) are free and openly licensed educational materials that can be used for teaching, learning, research, and other purposes." More than just a cost-saving effort, OER highlights the idea that teachers -- not textbooks or other traditional materials -- should create and deliver courses. In other words, textbooks and other resources should be one tool among many that supports teacher practice and student learning.

If this is an area of interest, please sign up using this link: https://goo.gl/forms/urftIkKMwikuRWOH2

The relationship between mathematics, science and numerous other disciplines is symbiotic. Given our schedules and the pace of learning, however, we may be missing out on rich opportunities to use (and to reinforce) mathematical concepts, which inform other disciplines. The chance to make real-world connections by treating mathematics as a language can often be overlooked.

This group is designed to bring together teachers of various disciplines, primarily in the upper school, (though everyone is welcome) to share and seek opportunities to make these powerful connections for students.

If this is an are of interest, please sign up using this link: https://forms.gle/JN47qEwd8is4QFFz7

How might you use these dynamic, engaging digital fabrication tools in your classroom practice? This research team will explore the ways in which these tools can engage you and your students in meaningful, experiential learning. Not only will you deepen your expertise, but you’ll develop opportunities for teachers throughout McDonogh to use digital fabrication technology in their class.

All teachers, PK-12, from all disciplines are welcome to join this group.

If this is an area of interest, please sign up here.
