We can't avoid anxiety but we can mange it. I have tried a variety of things, most recently I have begun to use mindfulness. In the past I tried breathing and meditation but it didn't seem to help. I don't think I was doing it correctly. More recently I have tried some different apps that guide me and I have been more successful. One of the things I have learned that helps the most is to identify where the anxiety is coming from and problem solve how to either eliminate it or better manage it. For example: a messy house creates anxiety for me. Having the kids toys and everyone's "junk" all over made me anxious. My plan for managing this: designate one room a toy room. Toys are only allowed in that room. Before the kids go to bed - all toys need to be picked up and put away. I would then go around with a clothes basket and pick up miscellaneous items and put them in baskets that belonged to the owner. Eventually the owners stopped leaving their things around the house and put them away. By the way if there were any toys left out, they got put in a bag and the owner was not allowed to have it back for a period of time. Sometimes I just need to admit that I can not control everything and let it go:)
