Here are three reasons why reporting on change process is necessary

Measuring an organisational performance is important because, the measures are connected to and indicate how the project is going. If the project is achieving the desired outcomes for the organization. This reporting keeps the change going in the right direction. And if the change is deviating from the plan, with this report if will identify this error and it can be corrected.

Measuring individual performance is key to assessing weather individuals affected by the change are progressing through their change paths. This report will show weather individual members impacted directly by the change are coping or if extra support/training is needed.

Measuring change management performance is important for assessing the activities required to coordinating the change.

Without change, businesses would likely lose their competitive edge and fail to meet the needs of the customers. Critical to measuring change is seeking clarification from stakeholders on what data is most meaningful to gather, and to agree on a method of obtaining that information.
Measuring project performance – measuring a projects performance will alert the company to areas of improvement or decline.
Measuring people performance – measuring employee and management performance will outline where further training is required, where resources need to be added or withdrawn.
Measuring the performance measure performance – are your results telling you what you need to know? If not, then you need to look at changing your method of collecting or reviewing the data.

Three Key Points – Change Manage MeasurementMeasuring Organisational Performance - It’s important to know if the change has been successful. This can be measured by tracking whether the initiative stayed true to the objective, how quickly it was rolled out and implemented and how this has benefited the organisation. By measuring overall performance this will indicate if the desired result has been achieved. Measuring Individual Performance - Your employees are actioning the change so by measuring their performance this will enable you to find out where they are and how far along they are. Do they understand how the change will benefit them, do they need any training, and do they have any feedback in response to the change. Their performance will help indicate if the project has been a success. Measuring Change Management Performance – Reporting on this will allow you to determine how well the actual activities associated with the change performed. Have the activities been implemented according to plan, are people aware of the changes and have the activities been communicated effectively to everyone involved.
