I learned a lot in AP Lang this year, it was also my first AP class that I've ever taken. I did struggle throughout the year, but I would say, by overcoming the hardships in the end I feel that it has made into a stronger writer. This second semester was very difficult for me because of my mental health, and it affected me in all my classes especially AP Lang. It would get difficult for me to do my essays and it bothered me because I know I am capable of doing better. I started to get better right before school was about to end, and I wasn't proud of the grade I had in this class because honestly who would be okay with having that grade? I decided to focus on my missing essays and I'm not going to lie, it was kind of hard to complete them. But after a lot of motivation from my cousins and friends, I got through it, and it honestly did make me into a better writer. When the argument unit started, I actually played attention because for me personally, I find arguments very interesting because you get to see the other person views that they have and you yourself get to explain your own thoughts and opinions. I know I improved as a writer, and I know I will continue to grow as a person and overall, as a writer and this class helped me get closer to becoming a better writer.

Having trouble building an introduction.

At the beginning of the year, our teacher gave us this article to read, and we had to write an introduction for it. It was my first assignment for the class, so I didn't do the greatest on it, but Ms. Kordik gave me lots of advice on how I could improve it. That advice already made me improve my writing and throughout the rest of the year my introductions improved. I learned a lot at the beginning of the year that helped me towards the second semester.

During December, we were writing about rhetorical analysis, and I think that was the hardest unit for me from the whole year. I struggled a lot with understanding the concept of it, but Ms. Kordik helped me and gave me lots of advice, later I did a revision for this article "AOC". I ended up doing a lot better and I understood it more with the help I got. From that moment I knew I was already starting to become a better writer.

where everything went downhill

During winter break, my mental health got bad once again and it really impact me and my writing, I lost all motivation and started not turning in assignments or I would not put any effort into them. I tried to get better since I didn't want it to impact my school life, I didn't have as much of support during this time, so it took me while and I was very disappointed in myself.

Ethics Argument Letter

I think Unit 2 was the easiest for me because I really enjoy learning and writing in an argumentative style. At first, the ethics argument letter was kind of hard for me to write or come up with any ideas since at first, I was confused on what format to use but then I just started writing everything that came up on my mind and I wrote about my brother-in-law since it's kind of a sensitive topic, when I was passionate about what I was writing, writers block went away and I just started typing and typing and typing. This essay/letter helped me become a better writer.

Synthesis Essay

I had writers block, and I didn't do it until a month later. I just couldn't think it was hard for me to do so, but I locked in at the end of the year basically and did it, I got a 3 on two skills which is pretty good for me since I would always get something below a 3, but I also got a 1.5 on the other two skills which now I know I need to improve more for those specific skills. I know I didnt get a perfect score on this essay but I tried my best and Iḿ proud of myself for completing it, and I can tell that throughout the year I did improve even if its just a little bit of improvement.

Overall, im happy and sad that AP Lang is over, I learned a lot in that class but it was also mentally hard because of everything I was going through but i got through it at the end and im proud of myself for that. People might not think the same and say that I slacked the whole year, (kind of true) but I know that I became a better writer in different ways and thats what matters. I know I will continue to grow as a person and as a write in the future and this class helped me with that.
