It is important to me to make math periods longer because our math scores are very low. I know this from statistics and compared to other schools. Math and ELA are the most important classes and ELA has a double period , so should math. I leave class all the time not understanding something or finding myself not finishing something. Then, I do it at home and may need help or need materials that are at school. On the other hand in ELA everything is usually finished and understood. We are forced to scramble and stress over standardized testing , we should at least understand the test.

I will make a slide show of our districts scores vs. other schools. Then, I'd have a few audios of students struggles with the amount of time they have in math, including myself. If I were to persuade my opinion that math is just as important as reading I think that would help. When we were in elementary the most important subjects were Reading and Math. I dislike when class is over and I have questions or unfinished work. I'm sure I am not the only one. I feel like if I knew what helped to convince the board that I-discover should replace Panther Prep. All together I would find students to explain the struggles they have in math, show the districts scores, and compare to different locations/scores.
