I know this from statistics and compared to other schools. Math and ELA are the most important classes and ELA has a double period , so should math. I leave class all the time not understanding something or finding myself not finishing something. Then, I do it at home and may need help or need materials that are at school. On the other hand in ELA everything is usually finished and understood. Then, I'd have a few audios of students struggles with the amount of time they have in math, including myself. If I were to persuade my opinion that math is just as important as reading I think that would help. When we were in elementary the most important subjects were Reading and Math. I dislike when class is over and I have questions or unfinished work. I'm sure I am not the only one.
