Her Favorite Color Was Yellow by Edgar Holmes was a book I read for summer reading over and I really enjoyed reading it. It is pretty easy to read and is about this guy writing about his girlfriend and about their life through poetry, so it was really cool to see Edgar techniques used in this book as I read it. It was a very emotional book and easy to connect with.

I read I'll Give You the Sun for our contemporary literature book this year. I enjoyed it a lot, it was an enjoyable read with commendable story-telling skills and a unique writing style. The book focuses on two twins, Noah and Jude Sweetwine, and their teenage years. The book switches back and forth from their POVs, as well as through time, Noah's POV focusing on their younger years of 13 and Jude's POV focusing on their older years of 16 and onward. The book focuses on a lot of heavy topics, such as death, grief, guilt, suicide, self-harm, LGBTQ+ youth, and more. It is an interesting read for anybody interested in such topics, as well as a good read in general.

This book was not a required one to read but I chose it to read for the narrative unit. I’m not too fond of reading but when I read this book I couldn’t get enough of it. there is lots of slang and it’s a very laid back book. there is violence and has some mature content but that’s what made me love it. I recommend this book 100%

Percy Jackson is a book series written by Rick Riodan. if you have never read the series please start with the first book the lightning thief! there are 3 series to this saga, and 5 or more books each! Percy Jackson is a very diverse series, rather that be Skin color, background, mental health, or sexuality/gender! it’s an amazing series that has helped me through so much, so many of the characters have AMAZING. structure to them, and the books are so relatable, along with having amazing plots and action. Not to mention, it's getting a tv show adaptive, in 2025, so no better time then now :)
