You are warmly invited to the GW4 Net Zero Transformation workshop on Wednesday 30 November 2022. The workshop takes place at 10:00-15:00 at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel. 

The transition of the South West and South Wales to an inclusive and sustainable low-carbon economy requires collaborative responses locally and regionally. The most complex decarbonisation challenges we face – such as procurement and travel – are interlinked across sectors and communities. This workshop will identify opportunities to co-create, test and implement place-based solutions to complex net zero challenges.

The universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter are developing Living Labs for Net Zero Transformation to address the hardest-to-decarbonise emissions areas. The workshop will explore how we can jointly scale the living labs model to deliver the social, economic, and environmental benefits of tackling the transition to net zero. 

The GW4 Alliance are supporting funding proposals to take forward the outcomes of the workshop early in the new year.

We all face shared and unique challenges in our attempts to effectively understand and address our carbon emissions, particularly those within Scope 3 and our procurement chains. There is a real need for a consistency of approach which also takes into account the differing levels of progress that organisations and institutions have already made.
