Through this experiential experience, the children learned the value of water as a source of life and the responsibility we have towards nature. They cultivated their ecological awareness and experienced the joy of giving and caring.

Next, we conducted an experiment to determine which stone ejects the most water when it falls into the lake. The children made hypotheses about the outcome of the experiment and recorded them. Then, we dropped three different sized stones—one large, one medium, and one small—and observed how much water each one ejected.

Through the process, the students had the opportunity to verify or reject their initial hypotheses, developing their critical thinking and becoming familiar with basic principles of experimentation and observation.

We narrated to the children the story "The Little Drop and its Journey", showing them images that brought each stage of its adventure to life – from the cloud, to the river, and back up high into the sky.

Then, the children retold the story by placing the images in the correct order, gaining a hands-on understanding of the water cycle.

Finally, each child created their own drawing of "The Drop's Journey", giving a unique shape to their imagination and knowledge.

The children participated in activities that helped them discover the properties of water in a hands-on and meaningful way:

• Experiment: What floats and what sinks?
We used a transparent container filled with water and a variety of objects (thread, hammer, plastic ball, glasses, etc.). Before placing each item in the water, the children made predictions, and then we observed and recorded what floated and what sank.

• Discussion & observation: What is water like?
Using our senses, we explored and described water: it has no smell, no color, no taste, and no specific shape. The children shared their thoughts and observations.

• Experimenting with buoyancy:
We introduced the concept of buoyancy by testing different materials and discussing why some objects float while others sink.

Sand, rice, glitter and oil does not disolve in water.

We filled two glasses with water and added food coloring—blue in one and yellow in the other. We placed the blue glass outside in the sun, while the yellow one stayed inside the classroom.

After four days, the children observed the differences in water levels and recorded their findings. Together, we discovered that water evaporates faster when exposed to sunlight!

We applied sanitizer to our hands and observed:
 How do they feel at first? Wet!
 What happens after a while?
Are they still wet, or have they dried?

We talked about how the sanitizer evaporates, just like water, and connected this experience to the phenomenon of evaporation in our daily lives.

We used water, hairspray, a glass jar, and ice to create the right conditions.
Warm water at the bottom, a little spray, ice on the lid... and suddenly, a cloud appeared inside the jar!

Through this experiment, the children learned about condensation and connected the experience with how clouds are formed in the sky.

 First, we drew a cloud with a marker on a piece of kitchen paper.
 Then, we poured hot water into a glass jar and placed ice on top of the paper.

A little while later, our cloud began to fill with droplets!

The children observed that the steam from the hot water rises, meets the cold surface, and turns into drops—just like real clouds do in the sky!

A little while later, a "cloud" began to form around the outside of the jar!

Through this experiment, the children observed how moisture in the air turns into droplets when it comes into contact with a cold surface—just like what happens when clouds are formed in the sky!

We filled a glass jar with water,
Added shaving foam on top to create a "cloud",
And then dropped liquid paint onto the foam.

After a short while, the paint began to seep through the foam and fall like rain into the water!

Through this fun and simple activity, the children were able to understand how rain is formed in nature in an engaging and hands-on way

We also observed animals drinking from a waterhole in Africa through a short video
(watch here), realizing that water is essential not only for humans but for all living creatures.

Their suggestions were written down and sent home along with Stagonoulis, so the rest of the family could learn too. In this way, Stagonoulis became a little messenger of responsibility and environmental awareness!

After brainstorming about the materials we could use (corrugated paper, paint, aluminum foil, paper roll, fabric, plastic bag) the little scientists experimented with everything and we came up with this. We will use a plastic for the dress and aluminum foil for the hat!
