After watching the video on 'Separation from Malaysia', answer the following questions:
a) What do you like about the video?
b) What did UMNO want Singapore to do and what did PAP want Malaysian leaders to do? (2.45-3.25)
c) Tun Abdul Rahman decided that Singapore had to leave Malaysia. Why do you think Mr Lee Kuan Yew and the Singapore leaders were shocked that they were kicked out of Malaysia? What would you have done differently at that time if you were Mr Lee ?
Write your index number, name, group name before you answer the 3 questions.
Thanks.

I like the video because it shows that the PAP really cred for Singapore and did not want Singapore to part with Malaysia as Malasyia is their only resorses of: Defence and bonding with the other nations. Added part, Singapore did not quite fit into the malaysian political mood. On its own, it had a predominanty Chinese population the government had firmly belived in equality for all races. ( i think that that still applies for today) plus the malaysian Chinese Association and the millian Indian compress. More mill many leaders wanted to create in malaysia a many in malaysia. the peoples action party government wanted to fight for a Malaysian malaysia and this was the normally money aspiration for malaysia. The PAP malaysian malaysia here argued for a equality of treatment. I cannot believe that the malaysian goernment accused the PAP for not helping them seting the equality of both country. The UNMO wanted a Malay Malaysia while PAP wanted a democretic society. Mr Lee did not think that Singapore was strong enough to survive. If I was Mr Lee, I would be worrid at the future of Singapore and at the same time sad that Malaysia parted. First, i would order people to build army barracks and make good relationships with our nearby country like our North, South, East, West countries. I would ask from my staff what would i do if something really happens like attacks and critisizing at us. would the people trust us? or would they just leave us to be alone in battle. And most importantly, are we able to stand for our own rights and know what is right and wrong. There would be too much things to consider that i dont understand his feelings right at that time. I think that he is definately anxious. yours sincerely,
