In my biology class, we learned that reproductive cloning creates an exact copy of an entire organism. The most famous example is Dolly the sheep! It's mind-blowing to think that scientists used a mature cell from an adult sheep to create her. Makes me wonder if we could clone endangered Hungarian species like the Great Bustard 🤔

[Scene: A cozy café, two friends—Alex and Jordan—are sipping coffee and chatting.]

Alex: You ever think about how weird cloning is? Like, imagine if there was another me just walking around.

Jordan: [laughs] Oh man, the world can barely handle one of you. Two? That’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Alex: Rude. But seriously, would it even be me? Or just someone who looks like me?

Jordan: I think it’d be more like a twin born at a different time. They’d have your DNA, but they wouldn’t have your memories or personality.

Alex: Right, so they wouldn’t automatically know how to make my perfect cup of coffee?

Jordan: Nope. You’d have to teach them. Imagine that—training your own clone to be you.

Alex: That’s too much responsibility. What if they turn out better than me? Like, more productive, more charming—

Jordan: That’s not a high bar.

Alex: Wow. Okay. But, for real, cloning seems cool in theory, but it raises so many questions. Like, do they have the same rights as us?

Jordan: They’d be a person, right? So, yeah, they should. But I bet society would struggle with it. People freak out over way smaller things.

Alex: Yeah, and then there’s the whole “playing God” debate. Some folks would never accept it.

Jordan: True. But honestly, if I could clone myself just to do all my work while I relax, I’d be tempted.

Alex: You’d have to pay them, though. Otherwise, that’s just slavery.

Jordan: [groans] Ugh, even my clone wants fair wages. This is too complicated. Let’s just stick to coffee.

Alex: Agreed. One of me is enough work already.

4o
