The flapper embraced the new fashions and urban attitudes of the day. Young women cut their long hair into boyish bob cuts and dyed it jet black.

How was women's freedom still limited?
Traditionalists in churches and schools protested women's acceptance of smoking and drinking. Double standard required women to observe stricter standards of behavior than men did.

How did women's roles change in the workplace?
Industrial economy opened new work opportunities for women in offices, factories, stores, and professions. Women had successfully worked during the war. After the war was over, employers who thought men had the responsibility to financially support their families were often replaced women with men. How did transportation change American life?
Automobiles became the backbone of American economy from 1920s to 1970s. One of the several factors in the business boom. Cars also changed the country's environment + the society. 
The airplane industry started as a mail carrying service for the US post office. The first flight ended terribly in 1918. planes began carrying radios and navigational instruments. Then the Lockheed company made a single- engine plane named "The Vega", that was the most popular plane. Then in 1972, Pan American Airways, the first passenger flight was made.
Route 66 was a route for people trekking west, from Chicago to California. 
The effect the automobiles and airplanes had on businesses and railroads was dramatic. Businesses could now spread across the state, country and the world now. This made it so much easier for people to make in different places. The railroads were becoming less popular because the new transportation with automobiles and airplanes. 
People would advertise their products and try to convince someone that they need their product so more people would buy them. 
Gasoline powered a lot of the economic boom of 1920s. Electricity changed the nation. American factories can now have machines. Now light bulbs can be used everywhere instead of just in a city. By the end of the 1920s, so many home home convinces were made. Electric irons, electric fridges, vacuums and toasters. The new appliances and food preps options made housewives jobs easier. 

In 1920's a lot of businesses and the farmers were not doing so well was because people could do a lot more things then before because of all the electricity. 

The installment plan enabled people to buy goods over an extended period, without having to put down much money at the time of purchase.

Fordney-McCumber Tariff raised the taxes on some U.S. imports to 60%. The tax protected U.S. business from foreign competition, but made it impossible for Britain and France to sell enough goods in the U.S. to repay debts. American investors loaned Germany $2.5 million to pay back Britain and France with annual payments on a fixed scale. Those countries then payed the United States. So the United States arranged to get repaid with its own money.
How did Harding's friends damage his administration?

When people wanted liquor they went to hidden nightclubs known as speakeasies. People had to use a password or a card given to them.

When people wanted alcohol they would get bootleggers which is a smuggler holding it in his boot. The smugglers would get the alcohol from other countries.
