My love for this little plant began even before it was planted. A plain little pot was gifted to me by my grade 1 teacher which I painted in hues of red, yellow and brown. In it went some seeds and with some sun, water and air, they sprouted into a mini product of love and care sitting right outside my entrance- greeting me as I walk by it.

This is my tulsi plant. It has many tiny green leaves and smells so nice! It lives in a big brown pot on my balcony where it gets lots of sun and air. I give it water every morning and talk to it sometimes. I also clean the leaves and make sure it looks happy. I love my tulsi plant because it is my green friend. This is my friend 'Yummy'. I called it yummy because I painted the pot my self as watermelon. Then my mom planted the tiny desert plant in it. Every time I get excited when I see new leaves sprouted in it. I keep it in open space where it gets air and sunlight and it feels happy 😊.

Name of my plant: Danny the Date Tree

Danny is a small date tree with long, pointy green leaves. His leaves look like feathers and grow in all directions! He is still young, so he doesn’t have dates yet, but one day he will.

Danny lives in our garden. He gets lots of sunshine and fresh air every day.

• I water him 3 times a week.

• I keep him in the sun because date trees love warm places.
