It has a mockumentary feel but is not strict to the rules of mockumentary. It follows the normal lives of three linked families. They explore how painful life can be but instead of depressing ourselves we can celebrate in sharing our pain together and laughing. The key thing that I would take from this is how they show and don't tell. I think the themes and stories are so deep and original but most importantly subtle. The 'will they won't they' romantic storyline is so realistic and relatable. The stakes are so high but so small.
