This stood out to me because its normalized in today's world to do what will help you get by, whether you enjoy it or not. Almost every adult around me talks about how ready they are for the weekend, and its sad to think we live our lives waiting for those two short days out of the week rather than doing what will make us enjoy all seven.

I will give my students opportunities to learn what their specific talents are and what they excel at. I will teach my students how to learn about themselves and find what they really enjoy. He went on to talk about how the ideas are based on conformity and not diversity. This stood out to me because people tend to blame a lot of issues on funding rather than the thought behind the plans. In order for students to enjoy school, which would lower dropout rates, there must be equal focus on arts and physical studies as their is main subjects such as science, English, and math.

I will teach my students that all subjects are equally important. Students must gain knowledge across all subjects to become a well rounded adult. It is important that I , as the teacher, do not belittle my students dreams and passions about art, and other subjects not looked at as important as science, English, and math. I will try to normalize the idea that all subjects are equally important and we cannot force our students to put more effort into those the education system treats as more important.

This stood out to me because it was shocking to see such a great rise in funding, yet student performance staying almost the same. This shows the problem with education is not with funding, yet in other areas. As Rhee said, adults are quick to blame it on money when the real problem lies with a lack of focus on the students themselves.

Instead of looking for solutions to students issues outside of the classroom I will deal with the ones in the classroom directly. If students are well taught and taken care of in a public school, there would be no reason to pay to send them else where.
