One of our main conflicts in our novel "The Hunger Games" is starvation. In Chapter 1, page 6 the novel states "District Twelve. Where you can starve to death in safety."
This shows that Katniss and the rest of District Twelve has been starved and resorts to hunting to feed her family. As you can see, starvation has impacted Katniss by having her turn to illegal hunting.

One of the topics the author mentions in the novel is friendship. The message the author was trying to express is, "one cannot be successful without friendship." I know this because in the novel, Katniss's friendships and relations helped her get through the hunger games. An example of this is Peeta when he had helped her during the beginning of the games. In chapter 14, page 193 Peeta said to Katniss "Are you mad? Get up! Get up! Run! Run!" Instead of just taking her life right then and there.

Review

Overall I was excited when I finished reading this novel because I badly wanted to see how it ended. My least favorite part turned out to be the ending because I was not satisfied with how things turned out for Katniss and Peeta. My favorite character was Rue because of how strong and intelligent she was for her age. If I could change one thing, it would be the ending because I was rooting for Peeta and for him to not get a proper answer from Katniss put me in great distress. One technique the author used that I really liked was the figurative language because it made it more interesting to read and catches my attention. One example of this is “We always wait to trade with him when his witch of a wife isn't around because he's so much nicer." (Pg. 37) I would recommend this book because it’s suspenseful and makes you want more. For sure, a fun read.

Katniss Everdeen Analysis

Katniss Everdeen, is a character who is strong, and grey eyed. At the start of the novel Katniss is protective over her younger sister Prim. I know this because in the text, Katniss volunteers to take Prim's place in the Hunger Games. During the events that unfold, Katniss is seen to become dishonest. This can be seen in chapter 20, when Katniss lies to Peeta saying she is not going to the Cornucopia. This is also shown when Katniss lies to serve Peeta the sleep syrup. She also states in the same chapter "Who can't lie, Peeta?" At the end of the novel Katniss becomes more stronger and more rebellious. This information is shown when Katniss comes up with the idea that if both her and Peeta can't win and come out alive together then both will not come out alive. Threatening to take their own life, Katniss defys the Capitol's rules.

I added this song because the lyrics remind me of "Then his eyes open, unmistakably blue in the brown mud and green leaves," from the novel. The song expresses the theme of love, its lyrics show "I am a wreck when I'm without you. I need you here to stay. I broke all my bones that day I found you, crying at the lake"

I added this song because the lyrics remind me of "I give Peeta's hand one last squeeze as a signal, as a goodbye, and we begin counting," from the novel. The song expresses the theme of love once again. It centers on a couple spending their last moments on earth in each other's company. It's lyrics show "and here it is, our final night alive and as the earth burns to the ground, oh, girl, it's you that I lie with."

The message the author was trying to express is "We sacrifice ourselves for the ones we love" I know this because in the novel in chapter 2, page 22 Katniss says "I volunteer!

In the novel “The hunger games” another one of the major conflicts mentioned is the tracker jackers. The novel stated, “Fear shoots through me, but I have some sense to keep still.” This clearly showed how Katniss had to drop the nest down before she gets hurt. As you can see tracker jackers has impacted the way the character changed throughout the novel due to her hallucinations.
