Logos

Logos is the appeal to logic. Using logos allows you to present your argument to anyone, using reasoning and facts. For example, "If the glove don't fit, you must acquit." This is a great example of logos because it uses the reasoning of how could OJ have done it, if the glove did not fit his hand.

Pathos

Pathos, in contrast to logos, is the appeal to emotion. These are the arguments that pull on your heartstrings. For example, Martin Luther King Jr famously appealed to emotion with his "I Have A Dream" speech.

Ethos
