Date:10th Feb 1914
Today was the day before the journey, we had to go to Shakleton's place to get ready and bond with each other so it won't have to be traveling with loads of strangers on a ship 'cause that'll be awkward.Having said that, they weren't in the mood for things, they were either practicing their talents or day-dreaming about our voyage,I felt the same way as well.Ernest ,on the other hand, never looked more ready, he was dressed in a handsome three-piece suit and carrying a notebook to discuss his plan with us."Gentlemen ,may I have your attention?"Once everyone's eyes were glued on to his, he continued,"I hope that you received a letter and is aware that we are leaving tomorrow ,we are going on an extremely and probably the most dangerous mission in history,I expect you all to be brave, strong, mindful, determined and qualified enough for this journey. There is no going back if we are stuck in ice, eaten by animals or lost in Antarctica, there will no time to change your minds so here's the positive part of my speech--if you think back, do you really want to have a perfectly same daily routine and start it in the morning of every single day in your life? I have absolutely no doubt that you would regret not going on an adventure and come back as a hero. You lucky men were chose out of 5,000 ,because I believe that we as a team will NOT fail the expedition," his inspirational speech was replied with a thunderous applause. A few of us wiped away tears with a handkerchief, some cheered, although our reactions were different, in our hearts, we all are determined to go to Antarctica. We spent the rest of they day preparing for the journey.
I felt very emotional hearing Shackleton's speech,I hope he is right and meat every word he said.

Date 15th February 1914
Time pasts so fast that its hard to believe that tomorrow our trip to antarctica begins! I felt butterflies in my stomach, because this is a risk where there is a possibility of not coming back. But im not alone, I mean, I cany even speak properly I mean its just so terrifying! I have to go to the other side of the world. I also need to takecare of my family, but I have to do this even though the salary is small but I have to do this to my FAMILY! Shackleton, for what I know is that he is a nice guy. But the other crew? I dont know whats going to happen I-I cant predict the future. Today Shackleton made a speech how he will go every thing with us together no matter what and will be like brothers. Im still pretty scared if it will go wrong, I have to make it back, I just have to, Im not being selfish but I do have to take care of my family. I just pray in these two months my family can survive with out me! Im running out of time! And the expedition is TOMORROW. Ok i guess i was a little bit exaggerated BUT STILL! Ok.... if im doing this then I have to calm down, and just be extra careful on the trip if i want to make it back.
