Theorical Perspective

The theory that I will use is based on “Communicative language teaching (CLT)”. It was developed since first in the 1970s by British applied linguists as a reaction to grammar-based approaches (Richards, Jack. (2006, p.5). The main pioneer of this approach was British linguist D.A. Wilkins (1972), and it was used to study the teaching of communicative competence in of language teaching. This theory indicates that Communicative language teaching (CLT)” is a teaching approach that goes beyond traditional language teaching. This approach involves some characteristics like: It favors the communication of the foreign language through interaction, introduces real texts, promotes the student's thinking in learning and not only in the language, includes personal experiences and relates the language studied in the classroom with other learning environments.

Theorical Perspective

As applied to my study, this theory holds that I would expect my independent variable(s): Grade (to categorize by school grade), Age (To categorize by age the population) and Gender (To determine certain cultural of learning among men and women) o influence or explain the dependent variable(s) in the Level of English Language Learning (In accordance to CEFR A1,A2,B1,B2) in the educational institution "El Olaya" Tuquerres – Nariño through the application of tests on line to measure the level of English (listening and speaking) . Because it is important to know the level the learning process of the second language through the implementation communicative language (CLT) in the institution with the objective that your students improve knowledge in this second language to communicate properly. In general, the teaching of English in schools is normally focused on the first levels of English, this way also is important to identify the level learning of English in this rural geographic area (Tuquerres_ Nariño) where it is necessary to learn this new language implementing a different approach from the traditional and where the role of the teacher as an instructor that through their previous knowledges and motivation towards his students can generate the learning.
