The purpose of the geosphere, along with the hydrosphere, is to provide the habitats for the biosphere, providing natural resources and environments to grow food. Without the geosphere, there would be no Earth!

The geosphere is the Earth itself; the rocks, minerals, and landforms of the surface and interior. The continents, the ocean floors, all of the rocks on the surface and all of the sand in the deserts are all considered part of the geosphere.

The geosphere is what contains all the rocks and minerals that stretch all the way from the the Earth's molten core, to the tip of the tallest mountain. All things that include rocks and/or minerals are in a geospheric process. These can include tectonic plate movement, erosion of land, melting of minerals, etc. These all build up the land we now walk on and materials that we use.

The atmosphere are layers of gases that envelops the Earth and held in place by gravity.

It is composed of 5 layers, the first being the Troposphere which retains 80% of mass and is 0 to 12km high, the second is the stratosphere which protects us from UV rays from the sun and is 12 to 50km high, the third layer is the mesosphere which is 50 to 80km, fourth is thermosphere 80 - 700km, and the fifth and final is the exosphere which is 700 to 190,000km

The atmosphere not only contains the oxygen we need to live, but it also protects us from harmful ultraviolet solar radiation. It creates the pressure and without it, liquid water couldn't exist on our planet's surface. And it warms our planet and keeps temperatures habitable for our living Earth.

The atmosphere protects life on Earth by shielding it from UV rays from the sun, insulating the planet and keeping it warm, and contains oxygen for us to breathe.
