They all move to America for different reasons. Germans had to leave to escape persecution because of the political disagreements and activities.

 The Irish left and went to America because of there main food source potatoes were not able to eat due to a disease rotting them inside.

 I think it is kinda sad that they had to move out of their country's because of the different reasons but, I think it was a good idea to go to America because of all the resources and you can get a job easily. There were many affects caused form all the immigrants moving to America. A major one being, big company's would hire immigrants and fire their American workers because they would pay the immigrants less and get the same amount of work. Another affect this caused was gangs were starting to form. Painters and writers in the mid 1800s were inspired by nature.  Many people started joining Romantic movement. The Romantic movement started in Europe and it was about having interest in nature and rejection to establishing rules. They believed everybody brings a different view to the world. The painters and writers used their emotions to guide their output to their poetry. This was because of the Second Great Awakening. Charles Grandison Finney was a important leader. Finney was a lawyer but left his job to preach. He was preaching to the people that each person was responsible for their actions. Finney held revivals and converted lots of people to Christianity. A guy named Lyman Beecher wanted to stop Finney from holding a revival in his city. He threatens to fight Finney if he tries.

During the early 1800s the public education system was very poor, most children would just work in factory's or farms. Also the prison system was very bad. Dorothea Dix found that mentally ill people were in prison with criminals.

Near the 1820s there were some free African Americans. They usually had to live in separate communities in the North. Abolitionist came with lots of different backgrounds and lots of them wanted to end slavery in different reasons. Sometimes antislavery reformers would disagree with how much equality they though African Americans should have. Many believed they should get the same treatment as white people. 

A big affect the abolitionists caused was some organized the Underground Railroad. It helped many slaves escape by hiding them. Since people were fighting for the rights of African Americans some women got influenced to fight for their rights. In 1838 a women named Sarah Grimke mad a pamphlet that argued  for the equal rights for women. She decided to title the pamphlet Letters on the Equality of the Sexes and the Condition of Women. Women's rights activists fought many difficult opposition.
