Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus was a very positive depiction of Teachers. She was always willing to support her students' curiosity, and would let them figure things out at their own pace, but she was there to help if they got into trouble, too!

Sister Zeph in Pakistan was a finalist for the World Teacher of the Year award. She was nominated because she brought education to local communities in Pakistan that didn't have schools or teachers. She would even teach outdoors when communities didn't have rooms for her to teach in!

Ms. Krabappel from The Simpsons was always shown as being frustrated, apathetic, and burnt out when it came to teaching, but there were moments in the series that showed she cared about her students, even her worst ones like Bart.

Andre 3000's character in Class of 3000 is the main cast's music teacher, and is always shown supporting his students' interest in music. He tends to push them towards following their passions and expressing themselves. His depiction also shows a real-life musical artist (Andre 3000) interested in the education of real life children (the viewer)

Hollywood loves to make movies about characters you would expect to be positive role models (Teachers, moms, police officers etc) but are actually poor models. This film shows teachers who are crass and don't seem to care about their students at all

Ms. Wormwood in Calvin and Hobbes was mostly shown as frustrated with Calvin's antics and not very warm or supportive of her students. I'm not sure if this is a fair depiction of a teacher because we only really see her from Calvin's perspective, who is a very poorly behaved student.

Real-life teacher Erin Gruwell wrote a book about connecting to her teen students' desire to be heard by showing them that writing is one of the best ways to speak up. The film version of this stars Hillary Swank. The movie is a more realistic depiction of a teacher, but the story itself is a little too focused on the teacher and not on the success of the students.
