This traditional dance has 6 steps. it is quite easy to dance. Syrtos in threes is the most basic and widespread traditional dance throughout Greece. It is the dance that everyone first learned at a young age because it has a slow tempo and simple steps. As mentioned above, it is considered the "genitor" dance, with the motif of the three dance being the oldest dance pattern. It was danced, as it is today, in almost all regions of Greece, even having a different name in several of them: In Thessaly, in Western Macedonia, in Central Greece (Vlachiko), in the Peloponnese, in the Cyclades (Vlacha), in the Ionian (Trata ), in the Dodecanese (Kato) and Crete (Siganos). It is nevertheless considered to be the most characteristic of Epirus. It is a mixed dance, i.e. men and women participate and it is danced in a circle

The origins are very ancient. The first historical source dates back to the early seventeenth century. It was danced on public occasions and private events (weddings, baptisms, etc.) as an expression of religiosity and joy.

In Sicily the Tarantella is very common and is danced with very beautiful typical costumes. Each province has its own traditions. Depending on the area of Sicily in question, in fact, there are different types of tarantella, closely connected to the traditions and peculiarities of the territories. There are dances for the grape harvest, dances for Carnival, dances for courtship and for any kind of celebration.

The Sicilian tarantella is almost always danced in pairs. It is based, in general, on the same instruments used in other regions, especially accordion and tambourine, but differs in progressive increase in intensity of rhythm.
