• Ask Students to develop a list of everyday items that are produces from animal and plant byproducts. They have two minutes to write down as many ideas as possible.

• Examples: Shampoo, Crayons, Paint, X-ray film, Latex Gloves

Learning Objective:

• Students will be able to name and explain at lease ONE animal or plant byproduct.

• Go through "Career Opportunities in Animal Science" PowerPoint.

• Talks about Employment Requirements, Soft Skills, Work Ethic, Ect.

Learning Objective:

• Students will be able to name THREE soft skills that would benefit them in a future Animal Science Career.

• Elaborate on the Educational Requirements for certain Careers in Animal Science.

• Certifications vs. University Degrees

Learning Objective:

• Students will be able to name ONE career within the animal science industry that only requires a certification.

• Have students pull out their phones or tablets and explore this website for 15 minutes.
