         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this section of the chapter, it talks about how border patrol agents are often viewed as violent and dangerous. They often abuse, harass and assault those who are trying to cross the border. These agents are often forced to arrest those who they find trying to cross the border. Some even admitted to leaving dead bodies to rot in the sun rather than reporting them. This is why many people in their community despise them.</div>]]></description>

We lso learn that often times the guides give people cocaine to give them more energy to make it through the journey as well as fat burning pills. One smuggler names Jesus tells stories about things he has experienced and how he would work jobs that would barely pay him. He wasnt able to make a living so thats why he got into smuggling </div>]]></description>

They take frequent rest stops but they feel more tired and fatigued after each one and they are quickly running out of water. They eventually run out of water and start to question mendez. One member of the group even suggests walking back to mexico </div>]]></description>
