( 3 ) things that I’m most curious about Mass Communication:
1. I’ve always been wondering how do YouTubers earn money? Do they earn by viewers? Subscribers? Thumbs up? Since everyone wants to have their own YouTube channel nowadays.
2. I want to know more about Public Relations. Is Public Relations a good career? What does a Public Relations Officer do? Do they get high pay?
3. How do mass media actually earn money? What is the main source of income for media? How FB, Twitter, Social Medias make money from us?

In 5 years time, user-generated content will be the primary focus of all media outlets. It has already started to become the norm in present times, especially on platforms like Netflix, YouTube and Instagram. TV shows and radio stations have also begun to prioritise this form of campaign, ranging from short sections to a whole segment. The reason for this phenomenon is in the aim to empower personalisation in users. As each person has different views, tastes, and ideas, such a form of campaign may allow consumers to not only personalise their investment and expenditure, but also help companies and entrepreneurs to advertise their content and products. The next 5 years will see a continual increase in the use of user-generated content all over the world. While some companies are still practising traditional media productions, it is apparent that user-generated content will be an intrinsic part of media outlets everywhere.

No, you shouldn't trust the newspapers alone. I don't trust relying on the newspapers. They tend to give you either biased and/or limited information on things happening around us. Which is why I would recommend, when you want to know about something, to search across the Internet for various news casts, reports, debates, etc. For answers. Basically, be your own investigator using everything you find on TV, newspapers, online, and from people around you as pieces of the puzzle you're trying to solve.

1. Will movie theatres still exist in 2030? How do you envision the film watching experience in the near future?

Not sure. The coronavirus has wreaked havoc on the movie theatre industry in ways that are visible to us — stars like Tom Hanks and Idris Elba have tested positive for the virus — and in ways that affect the livelihoods of many other people whose names we will never know as filming and production are delayed or suspended industry-wide. At this point, the future of the movie industry remains uncertain. The marketing machine took time to come to a stop.
I think that’s a real risk that theatre attendance never bounces back to the levels it once was. People are getting so in the habit of watching Netflix that they don’t want to go back to movie theatres and it is much safer to just Netflix and chill at home.

2. The major broadcast networks have been losing viewers for the past two decades. Will they still be relevant 10 years from now? Why yes or why not?

The future of television is changing rapidly and it shows how customers crave personalised, convenient content. As data capabilities increase and more streaming services are created, the future of television will be customer-driven and vastly different from the past.
Most of the channels have websites now where you can watch their shows for either free or by paying. Even if you pay, you're content that you pay only for things you really wanna watch.
Internet is penetrating at a fast pace everywhere in the world and with people spending much more time on their smartphones, the content creators have also started to prepare for an era beyond TVs.

Compare traditional radio listening with listening to a station via a mobile app. How are they different?

The growth of Internet popularity has changed the way that people act as well as how they access different kinds of services. It’s the same case for radio.
Being used to traditional radio, which is limited its frequency variation as well as by the distance from the transmission antenna, it’s possible that you have experienced the signal fading until it’s no longer possible follow its content, because you went too far from the transmission, leaving the stations territory.
Internet has provided a new way of making and listening to radio, which we call online radio. It allows the listener access to music and programming by simply clicking from anywhere, as long as they have Internet connection.
