I would describe my musical identity as diverse and containing a wide variety of genres. Music is involved in every aspect of my life, when I'm walking to class or at the gym or driving home and It also has the power to shift my mood any way. My Spotify playlists are "Classic Rock, English, Rap, Country, Alternative, Mexican, and Reggaeton" which demonstrates how my music is very diverse. Music started making a difference in my life when I started playing in band. I played the baritone and trombone and could play the trumpet a bit. By knowing the music notes and how it is developed made me look at music in a different way because it showed me the roots of the music for example the notes and different concepts. I have gotten my music from different people in my life but mostly my dad, he would play some classic rock which is how I got into it but he would also play Mexican music and dance to it which was passed on to me so that is why I like going to the club. Recently I got into country because I went to Red River with my friend and I started digging it so music always finds new ways into my life.

Coldplay has always been one of my favorite bands because they keep they're original sound but also find ways to improve it. I think that if I had to choose a concert to go to it would be theirs.

Classic rock has been around me since I was born because my dad would blasted in the house and it just stuck with me. I have not found many people that like it even though it is good in my opinion. Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands of classic rock, especially with the classic song of "Comfortably Numb".

My Favorite Spanish song

This is fairly new song but it quickly became my favorite song in Spanish because it gives the story of how hard it is to come to the US and how life is. I can relate to a lot of the lyrics in this song, for example, one that says "Jardinero o cocinero, igual me la rifo", which basically translates to "Gardener or cook, whichever way". I feel this lyric because it I have been working on landscaping and labor work since I was 6 but I also worked as a cook at pei wei. What I really like about this song is how it has the rhythm of a corrido which is a style of Spanish music which often has lyrics dedicated to narcos but this corrido is about the Mexican people working hard just trying to do better in life.

Rap

Rap is like the Spanish version of corridos which is my favorite style of Mexican music. The rap scene has switched over to more of a "beat" type of rap rather than the music being about the lyrics. Kendrick Lamar is one of the few artists left which has good lyrics and good beats in his songs. I prefer music from JCole, Ice cube, Kendrick, Eminem instead of the new music from people like lil pump or lil yachty because their lyrics are just over repeated about sex drugs and money meanwhile old school rap had stories and while it did talk about money and women, it was more lyrically inclined.
