Students continued with Unit 3 - Ready, Steady, Go!
Students investigated birds and different animals. The will discus the characteristics of birds (students used the words all, some and most to describe the characteristics of birds) and how they move.
Vocabulary: amazing, lay eggs, feathers, hummingbird, fingernail, ostrich, nest, penguin,...

Next week:

Students will continue with Unit 3 - Ready, Steady, Go!
Students will identify the long vowel sounds in words.
Students will review verbs in the present continuous and the spelling rules for verbs + ing.
Vocabulary: waving, making, writing, ripping, cutting, swimming, watching TV, skipping, eating, playing, riding, clapping, hitting a ball"
Language focus: Present continuous forms. Students practiced applying the spelling rules for adding -ing to verbs.
Language focus: Pronouns. Students will practice using it and they when talking about animals.

2. Maths

This week

Students learnt about fractions of a shape. They identified halves and quarters. They understood how shapes can be halved in two and four, depending on the fraction.

Key words: quantity, fraction, halve, quarter, shape, equal.

Next week

Students will continue learning about fractions, identify, two-quarters, three-quarters. Students can identify which shapes can be split into halves and quarters equally.

3. Science

This week

Students continued to learn about how forces can change the speed of an object. They revised their knowledge of key words: force, push, pull, twist, bend, squash, change, stretch, away, towards. This week there will be no Science weekly worksheet.

Next week

Students will learn about how a force can change the direction of an object. They will be completing a scientific observation, predicting and observing the results.

4. GP

This week

Because the week was short, we didn't have our global perspectives lesson.

Next week

Students will continue with challenge 2 - Family Matters.
Students will use a bar graph to identify the most popular family activities in our class.
Students will discuss the similarities and differences between how they spend their free time.
