Stage 1: Trust Vs. Mistrust

Trust is when the child from 12-18 months can take what their caregiver is saying and not give a second thought about anything they say!

Mistrust is when a child feels like everything someone is saying is a lie.

My parents have never given me a reason to not trust them or their decisions.

Stage 2:Autonomy vs. self-doubt

Autonomy is when you become independent and want to do all things by yourself

Self-doubt is when you feel like you can't do something good enough.

I have always been scared that what I was doing wouldn't ever be good enough for myself or anyone else even if I was applauded.

Stage 3:Initiative vs. guilt

Initiative is when you have done something good or you plan on doing something good.

Guilt is when you feel sorry for something that was done or that you have done.

I always wanted to help my parents out in the kitchen, cleaning, and yard work.

Stage 4:Industry vs. inferiority

Industry is when a child is encouraged and excited to try new things.

Inferiority is when a child doesn't feel confident and is discouraged to try new things.

I have always been eager to try new things, explore, and find new things to do.

Stage 5:Identity vs. confusion

Identity is when you are sure about who you are as a person and confident with who you are.

Confusion is not really knowing who you are as a person and not knowing what other people think about you.

Getting bullied made me very confused on what I was supposed to be doing with my life, who I was, and why this was happening to me.

Stage 6:Intimacy vs. isolation

Intimacy is when this person wants to be around people, loves to be around people.

Isolation is when this person doesn't want to be around other people and just wants to be by themselves.

I have always loved to be around people, make people happy, and give people the love they deserve.

Stage 7:Generativity vs. stagnation

Generativity is when there is commitment to helping people grow and giving them your own wisdom.

Stagnation is when there is no push to help people or yourself.

With all the wisdom I should have at this age, I would hope to give people that same wisdom I have learned throughout the years I have been alive.

Stage 8:Integrity vs. despair

Integrity is when someone has fully accepted their time is coming and there is nothing they can do about it.

Despair is when someone can't come to terms that their time is coming because they keep looking back on things that could've gone differently in their life.

I feel that I will be to the point of accepting that God has given me a full life and He is willing to let me into heaven.
