If we didn't have any emotions then we wouldn't be able to feel anything and we would just do what we had to do to survive, like animals do. Another factor that I think makes us human is the ability to form opinions about things. If no one had opinions then we would all think the same thing and people would no longer be individual. socialization: socialization makes us human in the way the we interact with one another and share emotions with one another. if we did not interact and share we would not be close to the level of knowledge that we all have today.

Our genetics and brains. But if you had a robot that was set up exactly the same as a human, that does not make it human. 
We are human because of our perspectives, emotions and ideas. It set us apart from inanimate objects and other animals. We see the world differently from each other and very differently from other species, using our own set of skills and features to make sense of the universe. We use our senses to drape meaning and logic over the universe in a way that is drastically different to how other species do. 
It makes us human to have limits and fail. Athletes are often described as superhuman, pushing the limits of our abilities. Describing them as such acknowledges that to be human means to be limited and somewhat mediocre.

We can think back and learn from what other have done. We also have a thrive for knowledge and as a species want to continually learn  and expand our knowledge. We  have a morality that inclines us to help each other and help those in need of it. finally, We are the only species that find comfort in a higher power and Divinity. A moral guide that has led many people to help others and join together as a species

A long time ago humans started to train wolves to protect them from predators and other humans and in exchange the wolves would get a reliable a supply of food, people managed to change wolves by removing the threatening ones and keeping the loyal ones and after years of evolution wolves became dogs.
Humans have managed to create cities and and homes, they created materials to make clothing, buildings and many others necessary products.
