I chose this as my favourite previous students work for the sole reason that i thoroughly enjoyed the video, in all aspects.

The performance of the students was key, as it looked like they knew exactly what they were doing. Nothing about them made it look awkward, and they had great confidence, which i felt went seamlessly with the vibe of the song itself.

Whilst watching these students work, i noticed they they were capable of matching the song up with the lip syncing incredibly well, and i did not notice that many mistakes. The original song had parts for both a man and a woman, and so having both a boy and girl have parts in lip syncing, appealed to me.

At various points throughout the video, i noticed specific camera shots / angled i quite liked. For example, at 0.44, the music seemed to be upbeat, and so they had shots of someone dancing. These shots were not still, however, but they were shaky, almost like tracking, which i felt matched the tempo of the song incredibly well.

The locations used, i felt, work perfectly with the genre of the song. Graffiti and streets are something often seen in Hip Hop music videos, and so they stuck to the forms and conventions of their music genre

Editing

At 1:19, two clips, one of the girl singing, and one of a boy dancing, was edited together, to switch between clips at a fast pace. This was done at a point in the song where the tempo sped up, and so must have been very hard to edit, another reason as to why this piece of work is my favourite.

Another great piece of editing was at 2:09, when two clips were being transitioned. instead of going from one clip to another, the students overlapped the clips, showing both the boy dancing, as well as the two students who were singing. This expressed great creativity skills, as well as the fact that they knew exactly what they were doing when it came to editing.
