My Definition of Music-- Introduction

Music, in my opinion, is a collection of sounds, silence, and lyrics that the listener values or finds emotionally, mentally, or physically significant. However, I also feel that people value music differently. For example, on a daily basis I typically listen to the lyrics and chord structure of my favorite songs-- typically because I love the sound of the guitar and I love the way lyrics make me feel. When the two are mixed together, in my opinion it creates a beautiful physical feeling that I cannot describe. On the other hand, many people find joy from listening to different types of music-- such as through electronic music or through strictly instrumental music. I don't have a favorite genre, however I love punk, funk, and rap the most. Music is probably the biggest part of my life and it is definitely the most significant part of my life. Music moves me in a way that no one and nothing else can, and I am so grateful that I live in a world where I can listen to and create music freely.

The following Padlet includes my favorite musical pieces, my favorite lyrics, and some of my favorite musical quotes.
