My favorite poem by Emily Dickinson would have to be "I am Nobody! Who Are You?" The poem appeals to me in a dark and depressing way. "I am Nobody. Who are You?" Shows that the author is a nobody, a person who stands away from the crowd. I feel as if i relate to this poem on an emotional level.

My favorite poem is " I took my power in my hand- And went against the world- 'Twas not so much as David- had - But I- was twice as bold...," because, to me, it means that it was her against the world and that she wasn't as great as David, but she has a greater strength that David did not have.

My favorite poem is poem number 6, it shows her views on society and interaction, i especially like the comparison between society and a bog (Bog of eternal Stench, The Labyrinth 1986) ((not a direct comparison, just a personal)).
This shows her personal recluse ways and how she likes to avoid people and the judgements made by them to each other.

Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all, And sweetest in the gale is heard; And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird That kept so many warm.

I find interesting that in a group of depressing poems,you can find one that gives hope. Kinda like how even when all is bad , it will never be completely horrible.

The poem I liked the most was number 3, it says "One little maid---from playmates--- One little mind from school--- There must be guests in Eden--- All the rooms are full---" It seemed really intriguing and unique from the rest and it brought my attention because it wasn't really focussed on one theme.

ON the quote she says the she shall not live in vain. By that she means if she gets to help other people by what she does then her life matters.

"If I can stop ones heart from breaking" The reason why I like it, is because we know that people are always hurting, and we don't know that. Sometimes can end up suicidal, so we should always be there for one another. Always know that a smile or compliment can always brighten a persons day :)

This is my favorite line because everyone has at least one fear. A fear that we have always been frightened of, but when it comes time to face that fear, it's not as bad as it had seemed.

No, I didn't "try-hard" and make a video for this assignment. Here's the simple text.

In keen and quivering ration
To the ecstasy.

For each beloved hour
Sharp pittances of years --
Bitter contested farthings --
And Coffers heaped with Tears!”

Emily’s quick use of “pittances”, meaning a nearly incompetent requisite, can really bring distress quickly to the reader. The second stanza refines what the first introduced with the consequences we must always pay for indulgences. It's not that I believe in this poem, but it's definitely a different perspective to consider.

"While we were fearing it, it came-." What I got out of this is that the anticipation of something is not always as bad as it is. Fearing what can happen will make you lose sight of what is happening. In other words live by present moments not by moments that have yet to come. -Westly Casey

My favorite poem from Emily Dickinson has to be the one that begins with, " I'm nobody! Who are you". The poem has a theme of lonliness, which is relevant to her real life. This isn't a suprise with the types of poem she writes, which are dark and have a tendency to go with death
