Black out Poetry is where a piece of text (from a book, a newspaper article or someplace else) has most of the sentences 'blacked out' so only a few words remain. These words are read as a new sentence to tell a story. The words are read left to right as usual, and the single sentence can span an entire page. Some examples of newspaper Blackout poetry can be found at http://www.bitrebels.com/design/newspaper-blackout-poems-a-creative-way-to-write-poetry/

Slam Poetry

Slam poetry is usually an oral performance of someone reading there original material of a free-form poem without props or music. It is mostly defined by the lack of traditional poetry features; it does not follow any particular rhyme structure. Parts of the poem might rhyme when the poet wants to draw attention to a section but most slam poems don’t even rhyme at all. They can be on deeply emotional topics, which can affect and carry the emotional impact on the audience. Slam poetry is well known for how defining and expressive the reader can become.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WuJm3N0p9c

Diminishing Verse Poems are structured base on the main rule: Remove the first letter of the end word in the pervious line
For example:
•	Line 1 ends with the word “grad”
•	And line 2 ends “rad”
•	Then, line 3 ends “ad”

There are no rules for rhymes, syllables, poem length, stanza length, etc. Just a simple removal of a letter. That said, poets can also remove sounds if they wish like “braille” to “rail” to “ale.”

Example Bullies, by Robert Lee Brewer

The many children in my neighborhood are glad
when all the adults chase around a certain lad
who acts the bad guy of an anti-bully ad,
but it’s ironic that any child who might stray
be knocked around like a cafeteria tray
when children only want to shine like a sun’s ray.

When you strip a song of the bass and the symphonies of instruments you are left with poetry. The reason that music is so catchy is the rhyming schemes that are utilised. As well as this there is a lot or repetitiveness both between individual lyrics and verses (e.g. choruses). Here is an example of a easy to see rhyme scheme:
Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go...

Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
But dreams come slow and they go so fast
You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies

But you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go...

Staring at the ceiling in the dark
Same old empty feeling in your heart
'Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast
Well you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
'Cause you loved her too much and you dived too deep

Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go...

Oh, oh, woah, oh, oh
And you let her go
Oh, oh, woah, oh, oh
When you let her go
Whoa

'Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go...
'Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go...
