Once upon a time, there lived a couple who was suddenly blessed with a child, gracing their once barren home with laughter and joy. 

And was the child the epitome of joy, with her big brown eyes that reflected the starry sky above. 

Jeon Daeun was born on a particular warm night in winter, right when the world begins to pick up some joy and vibrancy after the long coldness of January. On that night, the moon was full, a silver saucer high up in the sky that shone its light over the sleeping town. It has always been a joke amidst the family that the child had stolen all of the moon's beauty when she was born, for the moon was not to appear for a while after, hiding being clouds as if shy. 

Growing up, Daeun was the apple of her parents' eyes; she was the daughter that surpassed the expectations of a family that favoured sons more over the daughters. Her father had always proudly claimed that she was far better than 5 sons in the Jeon family and truth be told, it didn't sit quite well with Daeun's aunts and uncles. But really, who cared- the family of three were the happiest and that's all that mattered.

Daeun grew up in her parents' restaurant, doing her homework at the till until late night when her parents would make her the most delicious bowl of soup as a reward for studying hard. She watched her mother at the stove, whipping up the most delicious foods to serve, and she helped her father with the books when she could finally do the simplest form of addition and recognised that 5 plus 5 equalled to 10. Ah, that did earn her an extra portion of rice cakes and she was the happiest girl ever!

It was a family business that ran very well until Daeun graduated from highschool and was on her journey to attend university. It was an unexpected call in autumn, right before the school year started and the idea of school, which she loved so much, never tasted so bitter on her tongue.

Park Yeosa had been diagnosed with an incurable illness and suddenly, the upcoming winters were just too cold. Daeun saw first-hand how hard it was for her father to run both the restaurant and take care of her mother; she'd have done anything to watch life bloom in her mother again but there was nothing more that she could do. Time went by and Daeun graduated with honours from university, and within that same week, lost her mother.

It felt like the world would stop at any moment now; the bills of the restaurant pilled up into a mountain that sought no end, her father had lost the love of his life, her degree in business administration had begun collecting dust, and her distant relatives had zero condolences for anything whatsoever. So Daeun, in a burst of spite and determination did what she deemed to be the right thing; she took over the restaurant, pulling it from the grounds up with nothing but her passion and will to keep her mother's legacy alive. Afterall, she grew up in that place; there was nothing she did not know about 'Dalbang'. The recipes were imprinted in her head, etched in her mother's handwriting and she knew how to run a business from textbooks so it was just a matter of putting it all into action.

And she did.

She brought 'Dalbang' back to life, building onto what her parents did and would continue to do so. It earned her the reputation of 'Willith's Top10 Places to Eat' and it's a place famed for delicious and traditional cuisines. The Moon Room is her pride. Her father continues to support her in ways that he can, but really, she'd prefer it if he just retired. She's got this, even though she secretly loves when her father still insists on taste-testing dishes and writing little notes in the accounting books — she pretends to scold him, but treasures these moments.
