Rivers have gotten worse and worse because they have found long-banned pollutants in the tissues of living organisms. The amount of clean water is continuing to decline making it hard because those were some of the main drinking sources. One side is that this could have been prevented because farmers could have used the correct pesticides and chemicals instead of harmful banned ones. This would have prevented animals from eating these harmful chemicals and polluting the water. Farmers are most likely at fault for this problem because of the chemicals they use which is impacting water sources. Solutions for this are farmers can be safer and more careful with the chemicals they are using. Another solution is that farmers can take precautionary measures to prevent animals from eating this and getting into it, however that would be harder to do. This problem is important because people in England have streams and lakes that are polluted which is making it hard to find clean and fresh drinking water. This is putting people lives at risk and is important because people could die from drinking this water or die from not having access to clean water.

If you live in the United States or Canada you are going to have less of a problem finding clean water rather than people who live in the middle east or Africa. This issue is very important because we need to find a way for those people who are less fortunate to gain and maintain a clean water source that is not going to give them bacterial diseases and many other sicknesses that dirty water can cause. The main concern of this is that because of hurricane season it could possibly tip. Although this hasn't spilt yet there is ways to prevent it. In one instance you could avoid going near the spill. As well as currently, since the oil spill hasn't happened yet to start preparing on how they are going to fix this fast. Potentially there is a way you could get the oil tank out. Oil spills make up about 12% of the oil that enters the ocean. Also, Oil can not dissolve in water and forms thick clumps in the water. This causes the marine life to suffercate that get caught in the oil. Not just fish, but birds also get effected by oil spills and cause harmful mutations when birds are in the oil. A solution to this problem is the Oil Containment Boom. The Oil Containment Boom collects the oil. Oil and water do not mix, oil is unpolar, while water is polar. So, oil sits on top of the water. By using the Oil Conatinment Boom, companies that help to keep the ocean clean,  makes it much esaier to clean. It is predicted that in 2016, the United States contributed between 1.1 and 2.2 million metric tons of plastic waste to the oceans through a combination of littering, dumping and mismanaged exports. Everything will just keep getting worse and worse if the US does not change the way they manage plastic. This oil spill dumped 4.9 million barrels of oil into the ocean. This was caused because of a minor leak that caused a major disaster that killed 11 crew members on the drilling rig. This oil spill cause endless amounts of damage to the ocean surrounding the drill site. In 2013 3 years after the disaster 4 million pounds of oily substances were found on the beaches of Louisiana. Scientists also discovered that marine life was dying record numbers, for example infant dolphins were dying at six times the normal rate. General Motors was founded in Flint in 1908, and the company maintained eight plants by the time a 1966 U.S. Department of Interior report evaluated the watershed. The GM locations dumped 10 million gallons of waste into the river every day. This causes the brown to be either yellow, cloudy orange, or brown giving residents only one option which is to buy bottled water. There are debates due to the shorter level of birth control not being an actual concern. Mostly found in the water supply is estrogen from women taking birth control urine. In 2008 USGS tested waters to find 85 man made chemicals slipping through the treatment systems and flowing into the tap water. USGS concluded that many pharmaceuticals are in the water supply for 46 million Americans. Bendix found that 90% of the pills people take are excreted (wasted in the toilet). Many people who can’t use the pills flush them down the toilet, tainting the water supply from disposing of the pills  poorly. As time goes on the flush of pills released into the water supply has increased. It’s best to get an extra filtration unit connected to the tap water to avoid as many chemicals as possible.

That tanker has been slowly tipping since July and water leakage on board was discovered shortly after. Officials haven't done anything to stop or help the situation and slowly let it get worse over 4 months. If the oil spills it would be 5 times worse than the Exxon Valdez Oil spill in Alaska and would threaten the entire Southern Caribbean, one of the most richest biodiversity areas in the world. The spill could cause irreversible damage and collapse the entire marine ecosystem. If any bad weather passes by the tanker will tip over and their is no urgency of the situation from the Trinidad and Tobago government to stop this. About one full garbage truck a day is almost equal to the same amount of plastic that gets put into the ocean daily. This then leads to polluted water for animals along with humans that go to the oceans to get water because its their only source of water. One way for the oceans to be cleaner is throwing away plastic in a secure area. Along with getting rid of plastic as a whole and using reusable items such as straws and water bottles. Like i said earlier that its some peoples way of drinking and using water leads to why its an important issue.
