The Sandy Club, “A Safe Place for Boys and Girls” is a non-profit after-school program serving underprivileged youth ages 5-18 in the Sandy, UT area. Many of our youth are dramatically behind reading level and, in order to provide them greater opportunity for academic advancement and personal growth, we are implementing a reading program dedicated to improving the whole child through reading interventions.

Reading Program Tutors will be responsible for implementing the reading program (assessments, interventions, and data collection/analysis). Tutors will use assessments and other tools provided from their coursework in ­­­EDUC 363/369 and MAT 663/669. Tutors will be responsible for providing weekly one-on-one sessions with 10-16 youth each week (depending on tutor availability).

We are hiring a part-time position on my team at United Way of Salt Lake.

This is an entry-level, temporary position (Jan-Aug) at 20 hours weekly. The assistant will gain broad experience in various aspects of event creation and volunteer management, volunteer management software administration, social media support, event sponsorship, and community engagement strategies. Looking for someone to work with me on improving my academic skills, tracking assignments and completing all necessary class work.

I am interested in working with someone who has educational experience (a graduate student) who understands how to help college students succeed academically.

2x a week –meeting on campus. 

$20-30 an hour, depending on your experience.
