In one of those dishes he saw that some mold was growing and the sample of staph infection in that dish had been killed by the mold. He wrote a paper on it, but it wasn’t published until a few years later. He was known for his research on black holes. Black holes are regions in space that are developed from stars that have collapsed. The force of gravity in black holes is so strong that even light can’t escape them.
