Due to "social distancing" students and families are having to find ways to teach their child at home. Teachers and families have started to be creative! There are so many ways in this era that teachers can provide material for their students. If a child does not have access to the smart phone, computer, tablet or devise we have provided packets for them to work on at home. If a child is able to have access to online material we have complied a variety of links and resources for parents to use. This helps them stay engaged while away from school. There are teachers who have opened Facebook groups, started YouTube channels or websites. With the access to applications on smart phone and computer apps like Zoom, students can stay connected.

School Limitations

I have seen schools with laptops for each student and teachers with personal computers. However, learning does not stop at school. It should extend beyond the classroom and past the teacher. I love teaching and hope my students find a love for learning. It is unfortunate that after some of my students go home for the day, their learning stops. It take a pause until they walk back into my classroom. How can we provide resources to students who are in high risk and with limited resources? I have seen libraries provide tablets that students can take check out temporarily. However, this does not solve the issue. For a society that is highly dependent on technology we should make sure students have an equal opportunity to resources.
