I found my weakness when speaking in public in the 38% aspect, namely tone of voice, especially tempo. when i feel nervous sometimes i speak too fast and when i am remembering what i want to talk about, i slow down the tempo of my speaking, this sounds inconsistent.

3. To overcome my weakness, i will continue to practice speaking in public to get used to the atmosphere. Then i will take a deep breath before starting to speak to feel calm down and less nervous.

We can use the 7-38-55 percent rule to improve our speaking skills and look professional by combining words, voice and tones, and body language as unity.

2. My weaknesses in speaking are in words and tones. I easily get nervous when I speak in English because I am afraid my grammar or my vocabulary is wrong. Because of that, my tone will be changed.

3. To improve my weaknesses, I have to get a lot of practice. Talking alone by the mirror or recording a random video of myself talking in English. Getting more vocabulary by watching movies, reading, or listening to music. Also, learn more about grammar uses.

1. 4 things I learned from the video :

a. The 7-38-55 percent rule formula is important to apply in our daily communication.

b. The aim of this formula was coined to help us become better in daily communication, especially in different situation and condition.

c. The famous term of 7-38-55 communication rule was first coined by Albert Mehrabian ( a professor of psychology at UCLA ) and he demonstrated that only 7% of communication consist of spoken words, 38% tone of voice, and 55% body language.

d. It will be much better if people could unite these 3 elements, the categorized are :

· Words : (the things we say) the actual words, phrases, and sentences.

· Voice : (how we say the word) pitch, tempo, intonation, and pause.

· Body language : (means what we can see) postures, facial expressions, hand gesture, and eye contact.

2. Of course, I think this is still my problem now. When I talk to many people or in front of them, I am always afraid of my grammar. Sometimes I also forget what I want to say, so it makes me nervous to speak English.

3. To improve my weaknesses, I need to know a lot of new vocabularies, more confidence, and be brave to do new things. Probably, I could try by talk to myself in the mirror or repeat what the actor/actress said while I was watching a movie.

1. The 4 things I learned:
‌- There are 3 formulas to make our communication better: 7% of words used (the actual words, phrases, sentences), 35% tone of voice (pitch, tempo, intonation, pause), and 55% of body language (posture, hand gestures, facial expressions and eye contact)
‌- The 7-38-55 Rule was coined by Albert Mehrabian, a Professor of Psychology at UCLA, to help us improve our communication skill.
‌- It's okay to have only spoken words, but our speech would be less powerful than combining the 3 formulas (spoken words, voice tone, and body language).
- Albert Mehrabian admitted that the 7-38-55 Rule cannot be applied in all conditions. For example, if you enter a room then you see a No Smoking sign. In that case, you can understand that smoking is prohibited inside that room without hearing people's voice and their body language.

2. After I heard about The 7-38-55 Rule, there are problems I found when I do speaking in front of many people:
‌- I often get nervous everytime I speak in front of people, it makes me forget to apply tone of voice and body language aspects and sometimes, I forgot what I want to say.
‌- Also, I feel not really confident when it comes to speak in English as I am worried about my grammar and pronunciation.

3. To overcome my weaknesses, I will try to get opportunities to speak in front of people in order to familiarize the public speaking atmosphere to myself. Mirroring movies or natives' dialogues, then apply it to my daily basis could be my way to improve the second weakness.

Albert Morabian divided the 7-38-55 percent rule in communication into three, 7% for spoken words, 38% for the tone of voice, and the rest 55% for the body language.

   C. Not everytime this rule can be applied because sometimes it doesn’t even needed to be used. But for those who want to improve their public speaking skill, this rule was the number one option.

   D. This rule consists of, as I stated above, three parts. First one is words, which are the things you say. Second is voice, which is the way you say the words. And the last one is body language, which other people can see, like the posture, facial expressions, hand gestures, and eye contact.

2. I don’t really think I have one, but to answer this question I’ll say that my body language is pretty boring. I realized that my hand gestures are monotonous, and I myself hate that.

3. To overcome this problem, I usually spend my time understanding the things I want to talk about, so my gestures will go along with the topic, also to demonstrate my speaking in the form of body language.

1.
1). Communication is composed of three elements: words (7%), voice (38%), and body language (55%).
2). Combining words, tone of voice and body language in communication can clarify the message you want to convey.
3). The rule is relevant for those looking to improve their public speaking skills.
4). Context Matters, There are situations where words alone are enough for clear communication.

2. After I watched the video, I think maybe my weakness is the imbalance of the 3 elements mentioned, between words, voice and body language. Sometimes i get too nervous when I have to use body language, especially in the public, i'm also lil bit afraid when i'm trying to speak in english, i'm worry about the grammar and wrong pronunciation.

3. Maybe the way I can improve is by trying to communicate more often by practicing these 3 elements, starting by having a convo with my closest friends first, so that i can be more confident also more expressive.

1. What I learned from the video
• I learned how to get better communication by mastering 7-38-55 rule.
• it turns out that using body language (55%) is the most important thing in conveying thoughts to listeners, because gestures can strengthen what I say.
• How I say the words (38%) . With the right tone, intonation and pitch, I can attract people's attention and avoid conveying flat and boring words.
• it's only 7% of our communication consists of spoken words. Words are just the things we're about to say, it looks weird and monotone without using voice (tone, intonation, pitch) & body language.

2. My weaknesses
a.) I don't have many vocabs so I guess it's pretty hard for me to develop my communication
b.) As a non-native English speaker, I have problems in pronouncing words.
c.) I have stage fright with nervousness, also uncontrolled heartbeat which makes my ability in 7-38-55 rule even worse.

3. How to improve my weaknesses
To improve my weaknesses, I used to watch Hollywood movies/series, listen to western music, read social media in English, and chat to people abroad in English. Therefore, my vocabulary will be richer and I can solve my pronouncing words' problem.
To get rid of my stage fright, I'll try to get used to speaking in public and being more confident.

I find my weakness in the words used and the tone of voice. I still have a lot of confusion in grammar. I often doubt the grammar I use, whether it's correct or not. Another weakness of mine is in terms of pronunciation, I often make misspronunciation which cause the person I am talking to to be confused about what I am saying.

3. The things that I can do to improve my weakness are to learn more about grammar whether it comes from books or the internet, and to fix the mispronunciations I can check in the Cambridge dictionary to hear the pronunciation. Besides that, I can listen to music or watch movies so I can learn pronunciation from many things.

1. A) The 7-38-55 rule by Albert Morabian
   B) Based on the Albert Morabian formula, rule 7-38-55 contains: 7% spoken words 38% tone of voice and 55% body language.
   C) 3 elements of communication:
        • Words are the things we say (the actual words, phrases, sentence),
        • Voice includes how we say the words (pitch, tempo, intonation, pause),
        • body language means what we can see (gestures, facial expressions, hand gestures, eye contact)
   D) If someone only has words to speak (no tone or body language) doesn't mean the communication fail. Morabian himself claimed that his rules didn't always apply in every condition. But overall, it's better to use the 7-38-55 rule in communicating.

2. So far I've realized that my weakness is in words used, incorrect grammar or lack of vocabulary and misspelling sometimes. Oh and also body language, I don't use that often. When communicating, the tone of voice is what I rely on the most.

3. When facing my weakness in speaking, the best thing I can do is do more practice, whether it's speaking in front of many people or maybe the basic one, speaking in front of a mirror. I will also enrich my vocabulary, improve my grammar, I even have to train myself to speak more confidently.

1st Question:
According to the video, I learned several things. (1) A basic understanding of the most famous communication rule, the 7-38-35 rule was found by psychologist Albert Mehrabian in 1967. (2) The rule represents 7% of words used, 38% of tone of voice, and 55% of body language. These percentages should be treated equally and should not be separated, as they form a unity. (3) Words in this rule are defined as the actual words, phrases, and sentences. Voice includes how we say the word -pitch, tempo, intonation, and pause. Body language means posture, facial expression, hand movement, and eye contact. (4) By applying those 3 formulas we can easily build enthusiasm and excitement.

2nd Question:
In line with the video, my weaknesses when I speak especially in public are the words and body language. I often translate in my head what I want to say into my targeted language, which makes me think twice, first, I have to arrange my sentences, and second, I have to call up my words in my targeted language. The body language, I am still afraid to make hand gestures and eye contact, this happens because I worry about getting nervous and losing my sentence.

3rd Question:
The way I overcome those two biggest weaknesses are (1) word problem; because speaking is an active skill, of course, I have to master the passive skills first which are reading and listening, it's kind of like a mountain for me, it has to have a strong and big foundation (imagine a triangle, the bottom is the passive skills, and the top is the active skills) so by listening (to improve the way I think in targeted language) and reading (to enrich my vocabularies) a lot for voyage I believe it will improve my speaking skill way better. (2) body language problem; the way I deal with this problem is by speaking in front of my mirror, looking at my eye, and brick by brick lifting up my hand and then making hand gestures, by practicing a lot it will get better.

My first weakness in every speaking performance is nervousness, my body is already shaking in front of the audience and then I'll blank when I start to speak. The second is my voice tone is not louder because nervous. The third is my body language, in every aspect of the term 7-38-55 percent I can't do it yet.

3. How do I solve my weaknesses I should be more confident by practicing more intense and trying to stay relaxed and calm while talking

After watching the video, I just learned about the rules state 7-38-55 which was developed by Albert Mehrabian at the University of California, Los Angeles. The 38% through tone of voice includes pitch, tempo, intonation, and pause. The 55% body language includes posture, facial expression, hand gesture, eye contact. It's not easy to implement this rule in my speaking performance but I think it's an important rule in communication.

First, the 7% of meaning is communicated through spoken word. I personally have some difficulties pronouncing some words in english. I think it’s because of a lack of practice so to solve that problem I have to practice pronouncing more words, especially the most used word.

The 38% is communicated through tone and voice. I paused many times when I spoke english. It’s because I lack preparation and I don't feel confident enough with my english. In order to solve that i have to prepare well what i wanna say in front of the audience and be more confident to speak.

The last rule is 55% of body language. Because I feel nervous my facial expression does not really express what I say even blankly and sometimes my hands look awkward so in order to improve that i think i should be more relaxed and confident in front of the audience.

1. Explain 4 things I learned from the video

:What I recently learned from the video:

+The 7-38-35 rule; It is a widely used communication theory and also a mainstream citation in throughout the communication major and showcases the statistics on verbal and non-verbal communication based on subject experiments in 1967 by Professor Albert Mehrabian.

+Albert Mehrabian is a Professor of Psychology at the University of California/UCLA, famous for his theory of the relative importance between verbal and non-verbal communication which became known as the "7-38-55% rule".

+Professor Mehrabian believes that human communication consists of 3 elements, and in daily communication those elements are found to be as follows:
-7% Words spoken
-33% Intonation or voice tone
-55% Body language or gesture

+It's implied that "words" doesn't give too much influence to win someone's attention, for instance if we only told someone to stop doing something with no apparent gesture or a commanding tone, the person will likely ignore our request. However with 3 elements of communication combined, the person adjusting those elements using could cause a build-up of excitement or any other reaction to the person they're talking to depending on situation.

2. What are my weaknesses in communication
:I barely catch someone's attention nor do I get noticed in either private conversations nor group interaction. Mainly because I tend to communicate by enhancing the volume of my words rather than giving gestures or adjusting my tone of my voice to get noticed. Because of this, people might've prejudiced that I'm only trying to seek attention rather than saying something that really matters. It affects a lot especially when I'm trying to give my opinion in any place whatsoever.

3. How to improve my communication skills based on the 7-38-35 rule

:As shown from the statistics, communication exerts well if the person trying to communicate can adjust the 3 elements, which are: words (7%), voice tone (38%), and body language (55%). If I can learn to manage all 3 of these altogether in every conversation I take part in, I might be able to be confident to talk to other people and not always feel ignored.

A. One thing I just found out, 3 elements I learned to help improve my public speaking skills and a conclusion i got from the video:
The famous communication rule, 7-38-55 percent rule. It was coined by albert mehrabian, a professor of psychology at ucla. He explained that 7% is for words used, 38% for tone of voice & 55% for body language
The three elements which important are
Words: The actual words, phrases & sentences
Voice: pitch, tempo, intonation & pause
Body language: postures, facial expressions, hand gestures & eye contact
Based on the video, I concluded that we must have these three elements when speaking in public, so that the audience can understand, be comfortable and interested in what we are talking about.
B. My main weakness in public speaking is nervousness. Everything I want to say in front of the audience is lost in an instant.

C. After I watch the video, I will practice not being nervous by implementing the 3 elements in the video.
