         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>Act:</em> Crimes Act 1900 No. 40<br>Enacted in 1900<br><em>Purpose:</em> An Act to consolidate the Statutes relating to Criminal Law meaning the act groups together all law made by Federal Parliament in relation to Criminal Law. <br><br><em>Part: </em>14a<br><em>Division:</em> 1<br><em>Section:</em> 505<br><br><strong>Stealing animals etc ordinarily kept in confinement<br><br></strong><em>Purpose:</em> for those who steal any animal or bird for any domestic purpose are to be punished accordingly.<strong><br></strong><em>Penalty:</em> be liable to imprisonment for six months, or to pay a fine of 5 penalty units, or both.<br><br><em>What is a penalty unit?</em>&nbsp;<br>How fines are calculated by multiplying a penalty unit by how many units are within the consequences for any particular offence.<br>eg. 1 penalty unit in NSW is worth $110 therefore for the offence above the fine equates to $550.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Crimes Act 1900 No. 40</strong><br>- Enacted in 1900<br>- Purpose is to "consolidate the Statutes relating to Criminal Law".<br><br>Part 3, Division 8, Section 59:<br><br><strong>Assault occasioning actual bodily harm<br></strong><br><br>What is it for?<br>- To outline the punishments for anyone who assaults any person causing actual bodily harm.<br><br>What is the penalty?<br>- For a first offence, and person convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm is liable to imprisonment for up to 5 years.<br>- For a repeat offender, they are liable to up to 7 years imprisonment.<br><br>What is a penalty unit?<br>- A penalty unit is an agreed unit of measurement based on the severity of an offence, and how large the fine must be as punishment. In NSW, one penalty unit equates to $110. For example, an offence with a punishment of 3 penalty units is a fine of $330.<br>- In this section however, there is no penalty unit given for a person guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The punishment given is imprisonment, based on the severity of the offence committed.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Enacted in 1900&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The Crimes Act 1900 is a New South Wales statute that arranges the common law crimes of the state of New South Wales in Australia, it is the major law statute for NSW with 582 sections which define the offences in NSW.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Crimes Act 1900 25A Assault causing Death:</div><div>The reason for this section of the Act is to identify if the person is guilty due to the person assaulting another person by intentionally hitting the other person with any part of the person’s body or with an object held by the person, or the assault is not authorised or excused by law, and if the assault causes the death of the other person.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The maximum penalty is 25 years imprisonment for committing this offence.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>A penalty unit is used to calculate the amount payable to an individual who has been found guilty of an offence, for example, one penalty unit in Australia is $110.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
