         <title>NAACP origination, goals and values</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The NAACP is the Nations Premier Civil Rights Organization. It started in 1909 because of a race riot in springfield missouri. It was deadly, but it was common in those days that there would be "eruptions of anti black violence", but this was what finally got the NAACP to be created. A group of white liberals got together and started the NAACP. Their Main values were to secure rights for all people included in the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments of the U.S Constitutions. The 13th amendment abolished slavery, which the NAACP did their best to make sure their wasn't going on and was not going to happen. . The other amendments were going to help all minorities group of citizens and the NAACP was trying to help give them those, which included equal protection of the law, and they would try and create equal economic opportunities for minorities, and eliminate race prejudice. In the 1930's the NAACP also started focusing on economic purposes with it being in  the middle of the  great depression. </div>]]></description>

Their first president was Moorfield Storey, who was a white constitutional lawyer.He was the former president of the America Bar Association. There was only one African American on the original board of executives, and his name was Du Bois.</div>]]></description>
