(1) By whom and when it was invented

- The purified straw "Life Straw" is a representative example of appropriate technology designed to solve drinking water problems in developing countries. Lifestraw was developed by a company called VESTERGAARD 베스터가드 located in Switzerland. The company started its business as a natural fabrication in Denmark in 1957, and Michel Vestergard 미켈 베스터가드, the grandson of the founder, took charge of the company and began developing appropriate technologies in earnest. Michel was in business in Nigeria before the 1993 riot, and his experience at that time found that there were more children in Africa who died from diseases caused by contaminated water than children who were shot and killed.
