         <description><![CDATA[<div>I taught a fake news workshop with a Writing Center colleague, and we had students examine an object (a ring) and reflect on their initial thoughts related to the object. Students were given no context and were encouraged to question the ring's origin, material composition, social context, ownership, and (after revealing the ring's origins) how they constructed meaning from their own perspectives.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We had a worksheet that walks students through an important business literature database. Students didn't always complete it. We converted it to a BINGO game and encouraged competition among tables, and their engagement definitely increased. In future sessions we will probably reduce the competitive nature of the exercise</div>]]></description>
