The Comstock lode was a big part of Nevada's history because the miners found gold then silver on their way to California, and this made more people come to Nevada and stay. This made the state more rich and brought more visitors to Nevada. The miners made $230 million which helped finance the civil war.
Leilah Russell

The most interesting thing that I've learned about Nevada history is the Comstock Lode. It was initially discovered in 1859. It was a dominating event, and numerous of people came to Nevada. There were also few court battles, claiming mining boundaries. The total amount taken from the Comstock was, $306,779,618.48.

The Comstock Lode was the most important event in our history. That is because the Comstock Lode was the one event in our history that brought people to Nevada. Infoplease states that “News of the discovery then spread rapidly, attracting promoters and traders as well as miners, and the lode was the scene of feverish activity.” This is important because if this would not have happened then all those people would not have came to Nevada. Also according to Online Nevada Encyclopedia " Certainly it is the most dramatic event in Nevada's nineteenth century history, and, without it, Nevada could not have attained statehood when it did." This is important because even my source its self says that if the Comstock Lode would not have happened then Nevada would not have became a state at the time that it did.
