    Social Development- Play allows children to listen, negotiate, and compromise with others to develop an awareness of differences among people.

It is important to facilitate cooperative play by setting up a space for children to play and helping children develop the language to express their feelings and needs.
    4 and 5 year olds- Children begin to discuss, negotiate, and strategize elaborate play scenes and work together towards a mutual goal. Educators should organize the classroom environment to structure and optimize play experiences.
