This newly married couple is strange because this is a teenage, gay couple who plan to get married when they graduate. Blaine and Kurt from Glee show how teenagers are not prepared for marriage even if they are considered legal adults. They are unable to control jealousy, and often lost in where they stand.

A healthy newly wed relationship would look something like Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield's. They are not only in love but they behave like best friends. It is important for these relationships to be serious yet fun and they work together to good. They know where they stand at all times and make each other happy which is the most important thing.

This family would be considered "non-traditional" by most people because of the amount of diversity in the family. Cam and Mitchell from Modern Family are two gay men who have decided to adopt a daughter from China. Even though Cam and Mitchell are not her biological parents, they still treat her and raise her like she is their own.

In families such of those like on the television show, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo", they are not a typical family. There are four children in the family yet none of them are fully related; they each have different fathers and they are no longer in the picture. This influences the way they view the world. This family is also a "pageant family". They value beauty yet not the normal standards of beauty and live their life how they will, even if the world judges them. They live a different way and pageants is a large factor while their southern culture is as well.

Fame has affected the Kardashians in a negative way making it a difficult time for a family in mid-life. All of the Kardashian children are now grown up and married, having children, or discovering who they are in the world. The fame has also affected people that not only are biologically related, but those who marry in. Scott Disick is the husband of Kourtney and while he used to be a sweet guy, he is wired to believe he is better than everyone just like the rest of the family. Most children often go into the world after they many and are very independant from their parents. But the Kardashians rely on Kris, their mother, like children when they have problems and she is also their manager; leaving no room for them to find things out themselves. It is a constant competition to see who is the most successful which leads to gossip and constant fighting which is not healthy. The dysfunction of this family all thanks to the fame of reality television; it has rewired their brains and changed their way of life.

Norma and Dylan Bates are an example of how when you are not close during childhood or there is not enough affection during that time. This is evident because Dylan does not call his mother "mom", he calls her Norma. Their is no bond between them and they can go years without seeing each other. Dylan was obviously neglected of love and Norma obviously likes his brother, Norman, better. This leads to troubles in mid-life because when Norma finally realizes that she must show him affection, he does not respond well, making it difficult to med relationships and they argue on lifestyle and ethical views,
