The difference between rotation and revolution that rotation of the Earth lasts for 24 hours or 1 day, but revolution last for a whole year which is about 365 days. Another way to know the difference between revolution and rotation is that since the word revolution is longer then rotation, revolution has more days then rotation.

First question: Since the Earth rotates about the whole day, when it rotates, about some time of the day can be night time due to it not facing the sun and day time would face the sun cause you can see the sun when it is day time.

Second question: Easy question! It is because one part of Earth doesn't face the sun which is night time. Day time faces the sun.
