Jackson Height did not have stores, apartments, private houses and all that before. It was a farmland with duck ponds. In the 1900’s it mostly had farms and was called Train Meadow and later was called Elmhurst. In 1911 it was the start of having buildings. Three years later a four storey building called Laurel Court was built it was the tallest residential building. Then in the 1917 they made garden apartments. There were so many things in Jackson Heights that it later attracted people’s attention. Later, in the 2000’s it attracted even more attention because of it’s buildings and the design of things.

Jackson Heights had so many private gardens. This was one of the reasons it attracted so many people. The reason Jackson Heights exist is because people wanted a garden community. There is about 7,482 trees in this neighborhood which is a lot for a neighborhood to have. There was a guy called Thomas and he wanted to build a Garden-City-within -a-city. He wanted to make a Garden City because many of the other neighborhood and cities are filled with buildings and there isn’t much nature in those cities.
