People think I’m reckless

And no sense of control,

But I’m no such thing. I have  plenty self control.

Because I’m black,

People expect me to automatically be loud,

But I’m a very silent person.

 

Because I’m female,

People think i have to look a certain way,dress a certain way or be a certain way,

But i do not i am me.

Because I’m a teenager, older generations think i am weak minded and brainwashed,

But I have knowledge and I’m still learning.

Because I’m a good person, others expect me to always be there for them,

But I have problems to and can’t always help others.

Because I’m quiet,

People think that I won’t stand up for myself,

But i have a mouth and i will use it if needed.

I am from the small brown Cousy cookies baking 

I am from the sunflower

The house plant whose long gone limbs I remember as if they were my own.

I’m from Sunday dinner and affection from brother and sister I’m from loud talking and Money managing and from jokes with laughter

I’m from go play with the other kids and don't be so shy and crazy in love

I’m From sitting at the table I’m from Sacramento And African American  and collard greens. 

From getting stuck in an elevator stuck in a small place with bad anxiety loving memories of family in my heart. always and forever
